Family Night: Universal Screeners

The Office of Family Engagement's Engage, Equip, Empower Series presents Universal Screeners: i-Ready & MAP Family Night presented by Miranda McLaren, Executive Director for the Office of Accountability and Assessment on Tuesday, August 27th virtually from 5:30 pm until 6:30 pm.

During this session, GCPS families of students in grades K - 9 will receive information about the i-Ready and MAP Universal Screeners, find out how they will help identify students' strengths and areas of need, and how they support instruction for all students.

ESOL Workshop

 This virtual workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 25th, at 5:30 PM via Zoom.

During this session, we will provide an overview of the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) program, including eligibility criteria, the process of learning a new language, language instruction methods, and the resources available to support our multilingual students.

We encourage all parents to attend and learn more about how we can work together to support your child’s language development and academic success.

Family-School Partnership Advisory Council (PAC)

The Office of Family Engagement in the Department of Federal Programs invites all families to join the “Family-School Partnership Advisory Council (PAC)” meeting on November 12, 2024, from 5:30 until 7:30 PM.

They are excited to meet in person with all families at the Instructional Support Center in Grayson Room 2.124. During this meeting, GCPS families will receive information about Title I, Title II, Title III, and Family Engagement. Families will have the opportunity to provide input on how these funds are utilized to support students, staff, and schools.

Family School Partnership Advisory Council Meeting (Virtual)

Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS) Family Night

We are excited to invite you to our Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) Family Night on March 18, 2025, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM via Zoom. This event is open to all GCPS families and will provide valuable information about positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS), as well as social emotional learning (SEL).

During this session, families of students in grades K through 12 will learn about the definition of PBIS and SEL, the components of SEL within the PBIS framework, and how parents can connect with schools to implement PBIS/SEL strategies at home. This is a wonderful opportunity to enhance your understanding and support your child's positive behavior and emotional well-being.
