Cheer Club

Club Sponsors: Whitney Holmes, Aiyana Brown, and Earnest Whitmore

Purpose: Introduction to cheerleading through learning basic cheers and dance moves.

Who: 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students ($30 club fee)

When: Mondays and Tuesdays (2:45-4:15)

Where: Activity Room/Gym

All Pro Dad

Club Sponsor: Brendy Tall

Purpose: To build strong relationships among families and have students invite their dads to events (other guardians welcome too!)

Who: All grades

When: Wednesdays/Thursdays (6:00pm or 7:15am) (Schedule dependent)

Where: Media Center

Ballet Club

Club Sponsor: Lynette Bacon

Purpose: Provide ballet instruction to students.

Who: 2nd and 3rd Grade Students ($10 Club fee)

When: Tuesdays (3:00-4:15)

Game Club

Club Sponsors: Bridget Pettit

Purpose: For students to build intelligence, problem solving, and social skills through learning to play various games.

Who: K-2nd grade students

When: Every other Tuesday (3:00-4:00)

Where: Play2Learn Room/Playground

BETA Club

Club Sponsors: Ms. Hogan & Mr. Washington

Purpose: To promote the ideas of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students. We develop young leaders through honoring high academic achievement, preparing them for life and empowering them to be successful leaders for tomorrow.  

Who: 4th and 5th Grade students 

When: 2nd Monday of each month (3:15-4:20)

Drama Club

Purpose: To enhance theatrical skills, rehearse, and perform school productions.

Who: 3rd-5th Grade Students

When: 1st Semester: Mondays (2:00-4:15), 2nd Semester: Mondays (3:00-5:00)

Mustangs In Motion Dance Team

Club Sponsors: Lynetta Bacon

Purpose: For students to build confidence and develop social skills through dance.

Who: 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students ($28 club fee)

When: Wednesdays (3:00-4:15)

Rhythm Rockers Instrument Club

Club Sponsor: Benjamin McClendon

Purpose: Students will practice and perform in learning instruments for school event performances

Who: 3rd-5th grade students

Student Council

Club Sponsors: Samit Mazunder 

Purpose: Our mission is to give Graves Elementary School students a voice in determining school issues. The goal of Student Council is to promote a sense of community within the school by developing responsible leaders. Another primary goal is to create and nurture a sense of community within the student body. This organization cultivates students, who serve as a voice for students with the administration and create fundraisers to raise money for school causes and improvements.

Who: 3rd-5th grade students

When: Every other Wednesday each month (7:15-7:45)

Girls With Pearls

Club Sponsor: Bernita Houston

Purpose: Provide academic support and nurture each student as they continue to develop their full potential. Through personal growth, learning, and providing service to others, these ladies form a partnership of trust and collaboration, becoming ladies of integrity.

Who: 4th and 5th Grade Students

When: Wednesdays (7:45-8:25)

Good News Club

Club Sponsor: Charlemagne Stallings

Purpose: Students will have the opportunity to learn and grow their faith within a safe and positive space after school. Students will participate in engaging lessons and songs focusing character and moral growth.

Who: All grades

When: Mondays (2:45-4:15)

LEGO Club

Club Sponsor: Michele Carson

Purpose: Expose students to LEGO using the engineering process.

Who: 4th-5th grade students

When: Tuesdays (3:00-3:45)

Robotics Club

Club Sponsor: Collin Holsomback & Tynja Hall

Purpose: To teach students coding and robotics. Robotics will incorporate Project Based Learning activities that goes along with this program.

Who: 3rd-5th grade students

Reader's Rally Book Club

Club Sponsor: Melissa Davenport

Purpose: To prepare students for the Reader's Rally competition, while exploring the joys of literacy.

Who: 5th Grade Students

Purpose: To build student confidence in reading and writing, and encouraging literacy engagement.
